Day 1: Welcome to Tehran, Golestan Palace
Epic Persia’s tour director welcomes you at Imam Khomeini International Airport.
Transfer to Tehran to visit UNESCO World Heritage Golestan Palace, the first royal building in Tehran. Then continuing the road to Isfahan, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, famous as “Nesf-e Jahan” which means “Half of the World”.
Day 2: Isfahan Full Day Tour
Prepare yourself for a perfect day by charming sights to visit in Isfahan. The tour starts with a visit to Vank Cathedral with beautiful wall paintings in the heart of the “City of Mosques”. You can also visit the Armenian Museum at the corner of the yard.
A brilliant gallery of typical “Iranian Islamic-era” architecture and decoration is awaiting you in UNESCO World Heritage Isfahan Jameh Mosque, as it has been developed and expanded throughout the different centuries and during various dynasties.
Next stop will be Chehel Sotoun Palace. Wonderful is not enough to describe this palace of Safavid Dynasty, especially with its numerous huge and history-telling wall-paintings, through which you can have a rough image of the Safavid era.
Later on, visit to the most brilliant and world famous attraction of the city, or even of the whole country, the UNESCO World Heritage Naqsh-e Jahan Square (Image of the World). This grand square stands with its two spectacular mosques and the palace as well as the Qeysariyeh majestic Covered Bazaar.
The most glorious monument at this square is Abbasi Mosque which stands elate for more than 400 years. Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque with a unique concept among all other historical mosques in Iran; the only mosque without minaret and yard. The other monument is Aali Qapu Palace with unique decorations. Safavid king would observe the Polo matches and other performances in the square from its wide terrace. Charming Qeysariyeh Bazaar is the last part you are going to visit at the square.
Then you will proceed to the picturesque historical bridges of Khajou and “Sio-Se Pol” (33-Arches Bridge) with an interesting break in a traditional teahouse under the bridge arches.
Day 3: Shiraz via Pasargadae
Morning departure for Shiraz with some world famous sites to visit en route. UNESCO World Heritage site of Pasargadae Palace & Tomb of Cyrus the Great, the founder of the most powerful Persian Empire near Shiraz. At the city entrance, you will have a short photo stop at Quran Gate.
Day 4: Persepolis & Shiraz
Morning visit highlights of the city including:
Nasir-ol Molk (Pink) Mosque, famous for its fine and colorful ceramics & windows
UNESCO World Heritage Eram Garden, a nice sample of Persian Gardens and today as the botanical garden of Shiraz
Then leaving Shiraz and first of all, arriving at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Takht-e Jamshid or as Greek historians called it, “Persepolis“. You will visit the imposing ruins of the 2500-year-old Achaemenid ceremonial capital, known once as the richest city under the sun light.
Numerous palaces, gates, stairs with reliefs, halls, the treasury used to protect the Achaemenid Empire’s legendary treasures are to be visited.
Not far from Persepolis, you will visit Naqsh-e Rostam Necropolis, the rock reliefs and some tombs of the Achaemenid emperors.
After arriving in Shiraz, you will stroll in the covered Vakil Bazaar with colorful handicrafts and antique outlets.
Day 6: Homebound
Early morning (or midnight) transfer to Shiraz Airport for the flight back home with a full pack of memorable moments and nice pictures to share with your family and friends.
