Summary: This mountain climbing tour also includes spa and visiting some attractions in Tehran or Ardabil. You will see inactive volcano and beautiful lake on the peak of Stratovolcano Mount Sabalan (In Ardabil Province, northwest of Iran, Elevation: 4, 811 m), third highest mountain in Iran after Mt. Damavand (Elevation: 5610) and Mt. Alamkouh (4851m).
Day 1: Welcome to Tehran
Epic Persia’s tour director welcomes you at Imam Khomeini International Airport.
Transfer to your hotel.
Day 2: Half-Day Sightseeing
Flight to Ardabil (departure time depends on the weekdays. As per your departure date, if in the afternoon, you will have a half-day city tour in Tehran including Golestan Palace and national museum. Afterwards, transfer to Mehrabad domestic airport.
If in the morning, direct transfer to Mehrabad airport for the flight to Ardabil (Around 90 minutes). Transfer to Shabil Village (Shabil hot spring) upon arrival in Ardabil. Enjoying Shabil spa.
Day 3: Full Day Mountaineering, Acclimatization
Going up to Goosfand Sara of Sabalan (the shelter at the height of 3548 m) for acclimatization, passing through Ghotorsoei and Shirvan darreh. Two ways to do so; using a Land Rover for carrying the baggage to Shelter by the tour guide and climbing up, or transfer with Land Rover to the shelter at the height of 3600 m for acclimatization on the same day. It takes 2 hours.
Note: Climbing up for 300 meters for acclimatization and returning to the shelter. One extra day can be added for acclimatization in case of inquiry in advance before departure.
Day 4: Mount Sabalan Summit and the Lake
Early morning ascent to the peak of Sabalan with an elevation of 4811 meters. Spending some hours watching dormant volcano and the stunning lake on the summit. Descending to Goosfand Sara of Sabalan and returning to Shabil village by Land over.
Day 5: Ardabil Half-Day City Tour
A: If the flight is in the afternoon you will visit Sheikh Safi-ad-din Ardabili Khāneqāh and Shrine Ensemble. Afterwards, transfer Airport for the flight to Tehran.
B: If the flight is in the morning, direct transfer to the Airport for the flight to Tehran. Visit to Carpet museum, one of the outstanding museums, which keeps elegant and beautiful carpet, rugs and so on.
Note: There is no flight on Thursday from Ardabil to Tehran AT THE MOMENT, so if the 5th day of the trip is on Thursday a night in Ardabil would be added to your trip. So you can visit some attractions, and return to Tehran on Friday.
